Situated in the heart of Granby, Panier Santé is a heavyweight in the Natural Supplements retail market with a store covering 16 000 square feet.

It’s definitely a winning formula: large aisles, a beautiful decor, interesting products, informed and courteous employees, in-store Naturopath, an all natural snack bar, as well as a workout center that allows them to respond to all their clients’ needs.

Panier Santé renews the image of healthy living with the opening of, Avril Supermarché santé, a new health food supermarket in Longueuil. This avant-garde concept is a lot more than a health store, it’s a healthy and natural way of life. Its name reminds us of Spring, a symbol of growth and rebirth.

To simplify management, increase the speed of service and for web communication, this business chose SMS software as their point of sale managing system. In addition, all of their stores are now equipped with the Desjardins integrated payment system (SPID) as well as the ScaleLink product.

Boni-Soir

Boni-Soir convenience stores have existed since 1978. Over the years, these corner stores have evolved and turned into top quality convenience stores offering their clientele a complete diversity of products and services in a modernized environment, linking personalized service, courteous staff and competitive prices.

Boni-Soir has since become the largest independent convenience store banner in Quebec.

There are 227 stores, 80 of which are equipped with fuel pumps, under the Boni-Soir banner. The size of each store varies between 1500 and 2000 square feet.

More than 100 stores have equipped their server and points of sale with logiciel SMS from SIR Solutions. In addition, a direct communication module with the head-office was created.

Brunet

Even though the history of Brunet extends back over a century and a half, the company’s expansion has been as recent as it has been prolific. In 1982, when the Brunet family sold the company to a group of pharmacists from the Québec City region, the number of Brunet stores could be counted on the fingers of one hand.

By the time Metro Richelieu subsidiary McMahon Distributeur pharmaceutique Inc. acquired Brunet five years later, there were 11 stores, all in the Québec City area.

Since then, the Brunet network has grown steadily at a rate of 5 to 10 new stores per year. In July 2006, the company had 112 points of sale.

With the 72 Clini-Plus outlets, which are simply smaller affiliated stores, McMahon Distributeur pharmaceutique Inc. is the franchisor for a total of 184 retail outlets.

Already well-known in the pharmaceutical sector, SIR Solutions has integrated its SMS software (server and points of sale) in more than 50 Brunet pharmacies. In addition, a direct communication module with the head-office was created, as well as a module to manage reward programs.

Canex

The Canadian Forces Exchange System (CANEX), a division of the Canadian Forces Personnel Support Agency (CFPSA), is tasked with supporting the Canadian Forces (CF) operational effectiveness, contributing to morale, esprit de corps and unit cohesion.

CANEX operates merchandising operations (retail outlets) and provides CF members with Advantage Programs at CF Bases, Wings and Units throughout Canada.

In order for CANEX facilities to obtain the lowest possible costs, buying is coordinated through the Merchandise and Services department located in Ottawa, which also provides technical support in areas such as food services, advertising/promotions and grocery/convenience stores.

All 47 medium and large-sized stores are equipped with logiciel SMS (server and points of sale) from SIR Solutions. A direct communication module with the head-office was created, as well as a module to manage reward programs.

Côté-Reco inc.

The Chaussures POP and Ecotone franchise is a banner that operates under the Coté-Réco inc Group. This family business, which has existed for more than 75 years, is a shoe product importer and Canada wide distributor.

Situated in the heart of Quebec, Côté-Réco is well situated to better serve its market. Its modern buildings and warehouse cover more than 130 000 square feet. This allows them to offer an excellent service to their numerous Quebec and Canadian dealers.

SIR integrated its SMS software (server and points of sale) in a little more than 55 Chaussures POP stores. In addition, a module that allows direct communication between the head-office and its stores has been installed.

Dépanneur Voisin

The very first Vision convenience store was founded in 1985 in La Plaine. Since that acquisition the company J. Vella Inc. has taken off. As of 2006, we have a total of 15 convenience stores under the Voisin banner.

Led by M. Joe Vella, an entrepreneur having worked in the food and grocery sector for about 20 years, the Voisin convenience store chain is characterized by the design of its stores and by the will of its 200 employees to focus on customer service.

All the convenience stores of this chain are equipped with SMS software (server and points of sale) from SIR Solutions. A direct communication module with the head-office was also created.

The first Jean-Marc Brunet LE NATURISTE opened its doors in 1968, on Saint-Denis in Montreal. Since that day we have made it our mission to supply people who take their health seriously with supplements, vitamins and products that are as close as possible to their natural state. In February of 2005, the American firm NBTY Inc. acquired all 97 stores.

Le Groupe Harnois

This family business started in 1958 when Claude Harnois would drive around delivering heating oil to his clients. Since then, what has become known as the Harnois Group, they run more than 125 gas stations all over Quebec.

In addition, they created their own banner of convenience stores called Le Magasin. So far, 9 stores have been opened and more are expected soon.

SIR Solutions has installed its SMS software in 4 of these stores. In addition, a direct communication module with the head-office and a module for fuel pump management were also created.

Le Marché des saveurs du Québec

The very first goal of the Marché des saveurs du Québec owners was to – and still is today – allow customers to discover the delicious artisan products of regional producers from Quebec.

By opening the Marché des saveurs du Québec, Suzanne and Tony opened the door for the metropolitan area population to discover these artisan food products in one stop, and learn more about those who produce these products with passion.

In order to optimise the entirety of the store, the owners opted for SMS software to manage the stores activities.

Le marché Végétarien

The very first Marché Végétarien was opened on the corner of Deragon and Principale Street in Magog in May 1977. The founder and president, Michel Lapierre, had just sold his fruit and vegetable supply business and decided this time to try his hand at retail by opening a small fruit store no bigger than 2000 square feet.

Nowadays, the company has continued growing and includes 7 stores. More than 500 people head off to work for the Marché to serve and meet all of their loyal customers’ demands.

Metro Grocery Banners

METRO INC. is a leader in the food and pharmaceutical sectors with 55 years experience in the food industry. Concentrated in Québec and Ontario, the company operates a network of 600 supermarkets mainly under the Metro, Metro Plus, Super C, A&P, Dominion, Loeb and Food Basics banners, as well as 250 pharmacies under the Brunet, Clini-Plus, The Pharmacy and Drug Basics banners.

Metro and its affiliated merchants employ more than 65 000 people and their total combined sales were close to 11 billion dollars in 2006.

Chosen by Metro, SIR Solutions installed the SMS solution in all of their stores under the name BDMS. The advantage SMS is that we integrate all the different affiliates cash register systems (Aurora, Data Checker, SMS and IBM) with our interface that is exclusive to Metro. In fact, we offer complete control over all the registers for products and sales. In addition, we enable the link with the head office (Host) and the SAP system (distribution) for all of the stores.

SIR Solutions integrated its BDMS software (server and points of sale) in more than 30 Metro or Metro Plus stores and 221 stores use this same software as their server. Plus, we implemented the ScaleLink product for scales as well as a direct communication system between the head office and its merchants.

Québec Loisirs

Québec Loisirs is the largest book club in Quebec and also counts 4 stores that sell books, music, DVDs, etc. To simplify management and increase the speed of service, this business chose SMS software as their point of sale managing system. In addition, a module for online shopping management was integrated to their website.

Sobey’s Group

Sobeys Inc., headquartered in Stellarton, Nova Scotia, is a leading national grocery retailer and food distributor. The Company owns or franchises more than 1,300 stores in all 10 provinces under retail banners that include Sobeys, IGA extra, IGA, Foodland and Price Chopper. Sobeys and its affiliated merchants employ more than 75 000 people and their combined total sales total close to 13 billion dollars annually.

There are 175 IGA Supermarkets, 70 IGA Extra Supermarkets, 83 Marché Bonichoix grocery stores and 29 Les Marchés Tradition stores in the Sobeys Quebec group.

SIR Solutions integrated its SMS software (server and points of sale) and ScaleLink in most of the Marché Bonichoix and Les Marchés Tradition stores. In addition, a direct communication module with the head-office was also created.
For the IGA, IGA Extra and Sobeys stores, only the server was installed.

Uniprix

The Uniprix Group was created 30 years ago. It was born of the aspirations of a group of independent pharmacists who shared the same vital need: to belong to a strong, common banner while maintaining a degree of autonomy. Guided by a keen entrepreneurial spirit, they banded together, putting into practice the old adage, “strength through unity.”
